Okay...
[Stiles does it once, twice, three more times before moving to rest the log on the ground, breathing hard. Man, this whole 'no food' is really messing with his stamina. It's frustration, to say the least.]
Tiny break, please?

Well as long as I need might be forever.
Ten minutes will be enough.
[He's still got enough energy to attempt a joke, at least.]

Works for me.
[He moves to sit down on the log, fingers working to massage at his aching quads.]
After this lesson, I'm going to try and find us some food. We both need it.

Dynamic duo, you and I.
[He snorts, shaking his head, glancing up at Derek.]
Sounds good to me.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure everything smells like shit at this point.
[Still, he lets out a breath, and moves to stand again.]
Break is over.
[Really, he probably had more minutes, but if he stays sitting for any longer he's going to fall asleep.]

[Stiles could have made a really sarcastic quip.
He could; and would have, a while back.
But instead, he just shakes his head.]
Nope. Probably would have done that in Boy scouts, but I got kicked out after two weeks.

In movies and television, yeah.
[He doesn't think that counts.]
[He doesn't think that counts.]
[Stiles quirks an eyebrow.]
I don't have an axe.
I don't have an axe.
...right.
[Sorry, Stiles just doesn't understand. He does, however, stand the log up like he would if he had an ax.]
See, I would need an ax, to uh--split it? [He makes the swinging motion.]

[Stiles gives Derek a 'you can't be serious' look, then blanches, moving to grab at the log.]
You suck, by the way.
[He knows he shouldn't complain, but he is going to, anyways. He hefts the log into his hands, and does his best to lift it over his head. It seems like it's going to go well, but as he takes a step, he loses his balance, his center of gravity thrown off. And there goes the log flying backwards, and Stiles sort of going into a flaily pile with it.]

[Stiles shakes his head, setting his jaw.]
No, I'm okay.
[He looks up at Derek with a bit of...realization, but settles into determination as he pulls himself back up.]
I'm going to try again.
[And so he does. This time, he doesn't fall, but he does lose hold of the log.
Then he tries again.
His muscles are trembling, but he manages it, this time.]

Tired.
[He shakes his head.]
My arms feel like jello.
