theres a group of hunters in the city. one of them knows about me but its kind of ok

but he says he has to tell the others and he doesnt know if theyd hold back. he said to be careful

he knows im not the only werewolf but he doesnt know who any of you are so. try and keep it that way

How did a hunter find out about you in the first place.

i told him

he healed me from my asthma attack, he had someone elses powers

he asked what i lost that kept the asthma away and i told him, i didnt know he was a hunter. i thought he was my friend, he healed me

[ Okay enough excuses. They're not good enough anyway. ]

[ Hilarious story. Good thing Derek's otherwise preoccupied or there would be a livid werewolf stalking the streets. ]

And you thought that one good deed and a nice attitude meant that it was safe to tell the guy.

All of us are at risk now. And the whole laying low idea isn't going to work if we have to fight.

but when i told him he freaked out
werewolves arent a good thing in his world he said something about them killing people and eating their hearts

he knows we dont do that. so hes not hunting me and he doesnt know who you, jackson or isaac are

but when they hear werewolf, thats what they think. so yeah, we're at risk and we have to be careful

Of course he didn't. He thought you were human at the time.

And werewolves do that back home. Some of them kill for the sake of it, others do it for power. If an Omega is desperate enough it'll eat human organs.
All it'll take is one little mind trick and we could end up doing that.

If we even get that far. If they find out about Jackson's record they might start hunting 'just in case'.

no. derek thats not okay. we dont get a pass on whats okay just because we're werewolves. if we hurt people like that, then we deserve to be hunted and we dont even have a right to complain

what jackson did wasnt his fault. its different, and its up to us to show them that its different. that we're different, and we're not animals who kill people.

A hunter isn't going to care about whether it was his fault or not. He's technically a killer and he has the physical sign to show it.

[ Every time he talks to Derek lately there's new information. Why is none of it ever good? ]

Think about it. You and Jackson are both betas, what's different between the two of you.

[ He could pass along the news that the majority of people back home are alive? That's sort of good. ]

i never really thought about it? our eyes are different colours when we're human too i didn't think it meant anything

Every colour has a meaning. Alphas always have red. Betas are meant to be yellow.

Peter has blue as well.

[ And that's the huge clue to the mystery. ]

[ Scott's frowning at these texts. He feels like he's missing something important, that he's always been missing something important. Derek has this habit of talking like he expects Scott to know everything about werewolves already, but the truth is this has only been part of his life for a few months. He hasn't grown up with it. So much of it is still news to him, and he's always playing catch up. ]

[ And of course, Derek inevitably has to drive home the final bit of bad news. If it happened when a werewolf killed in general, the eyes could be explained away as self-defence. The situation wouldn't be that bad.

If the true meaning gets out. There really won't be a second chance for Jackson or him. ]

A beta's eyes change when they kill an innocent.

[ A pause here. Scott knew when Jackson had done that. He knew when Peter had done it.

But Derek had always had blue eyes, before he was the Alpha. ]

[ Every case he knows of has been intentional to some degree. Maybe it would happen with an accidental death, but he can't say for certain. ]

you dont know if you killed someone by accident or not?

I don't know if it's possible to accidentally kill an innocent.
