[Well, Stiles shows up, stressed in a pair of sweat pants that really have seen better days. He just--hasn't been able to get a lot of clothing. Most stuff was ruined during the last dust up, so he's just been making due with what he could grab here and there.]
[ Derek on the other hand shows up in the least practical clothing possible, jeans and what appears to be a dress shirt. Instead of walking in like a normal person though, he sneaks in and then proceeds to just stand there. Counting how long it takes for Stiles to notice. ]
[It takes Stiles a minute, but he starts feeling a wary sensation creeping up the back of his neck. He turns, and instead of jumping, as he might have, a long time ago, he just lets out a sigh, spreading his arms out.]
[ With a small step forward, Derek folds his arms. He doesn’t look particularly impressed by Stiles’ reaction time, but he doesn’t look pissed off either. ]
You should have been faster than that.
[ He doesn’t sound particularly angry either. More indifferent than anything else really. ]
We'll start with your senses. First lesson, hearing.
[ Just slowly raises an eyebrow at the word ‘ninja’. Come on now, this sort of entrance isn’t new. He used to do it all the time, it should have been expected.
That said he’s not going to call Stiles out on it. ]
How do you think?
[ He doesn’t wait for answer before pulling out a few strips of ripped material from one of his pockets. Closely followed by a handful of nails from another. ]
I'm going to drop these, and you're going to tell me which direction the sound came from.
[ If it’s some sort of sexual innuendo, it’s definitely better left unsaid. Derek’s aware of how the set-up looks, but given the resources in the city it’s the best he can do.
He waves the strips of material as though they’re the obvious answer to the question. Which they kind of are. ]
[ Rolling his eyes so hard, you don't even know. This is the level of maturity this lesson has sunk to?
He bites back an incredibly an insulting remark as moves to blindfold Stiles. ]
Don't sound so happy about it.
[ Okay, maybe he tightens the thing a little too tightly and really yanks on the ends to tie the material. It’s his way of venting. Returning an immature action for an immature comment. ]

[ Yes, this is relevant to the whole 'break easier' thing. ]

[He came close, twice. But he survived.]

Still think you're 'easily breakable'?

It causes him to pause, for a moment. There is a spark of pride in his chest, because, well...Derek is right.
And he was surprised that he even would say it; but he appreciates it.
He also isn't really cool with the idea that Derek died, but hey, he doubted Derek would want him mentioning it.]
I guess not. When you put it like that.
Thanks. I mean--in advance.
no subject
[ Literally. This part of the conversation never happened as far as he's concerned. ]
no subject
So...when do you want to start?
[See? He's not mentioning it.]

action?
I guess you'll just smell me out, right?
action!
[ In other words, yes, but he's not going to admit to smelling anyone. ]
action!
action!
action!
Really?
action!
You should have been faster than that.

[He puts up a hand.]
But I get it, I get it. Be aware of all surroundings. [He tries to be, but not always easy when he gets distracted.]
Okay. So--hearing. How do I uh...train with that.

Okay, but shouldn't you blindfold me, first?

Unless I can trust you to keep your eyes shut.

I don't trust myself to keep my eyes shut. So come on, tie me up!
[Okay he almost made it.]
