[Stiles is there, dressed in sweats again. They are still messy, but well, it's hard to wash clothing. Besides, he's going to get sweaty anyways, so...well. Sorry, Derek.]

[ Derek’s honestly not in a position to comment on anyone's clothing. He's got several nicely sized bloodstains on his. ]

[Stiles shrugs.]

I don't know, so you have at least one person on the same page as you. With whatever sacrificing crazy thing that was going on back home?

[ That's kind of irrelevant when the person in question is Lydia though, Stiles. ]

[ Just so everyone currently present is clear on his opinion of the whole 'mutual timeline point' bonding idea. ]

Uh, that's fine. Sorry just--I don't know what happened, obviously, so I didn't know if you guys became friends, or mortal enemies, or you know. Somewhere in between.

How about fighting?

She used me to resurrect my psychotic uncle and her new boyfriend attacked Isaac and Boyd. If I can avoid having to deal with her, i'm going to.

[ Basically don't pair them up for anything. ]

Fine. Barehanded or with a weapon?

That thing with Peter wasn't her fault, Derek.

Let's start barehanded. I think I do okay with a bat most days.

[Stiles grits out the words, and forces himself to focus on something else.]

The answer is 'not much'. I'm getting stronger, but...if you haven't noticed, I'm all klutzy limbs sometimes.

[ Just going to ignore the way Stiles says that word. He's all for dropping the topic of events back home. He really doesn't want to admit to Boyd's death or his involvement with Jennifer. ]

You can be.

[ He's seen the flailing. He knows how uncoordinated Stiles can be. Whether there's anything that can be done about that remains to be seen. ]

I know you have a decent punch though.

Yeah well--I've only hit you when you were, you know, dying.

[He shrugs.]

But okay, let's try and get me into something more...fight worthy.

[ The words are out of his mouth before he can fully realise what he’s implying. This Stiles isn’t aware of the incident at the hospital, he doesn’t know about Jennifer blackmailing everyone for her own gain. Certainly doesn’t remember hitting an unconscious Derek in an elevator before the police turn up. ]

As ‘fight worthy’ as possible. So long as you pay attention to all of my instructions and accept that you will end up with a few bruises.

[He knows that this is going to make him sore and beat up; but he's prepared for it.]

[ Which sounds kind of ridiculous to say. There has to be a better word for it. ]

I won't break anything. If you want to stop at any point, say so and we will.

[ Going to have to trust him on that. ]

[Just like last time--which worked out well, actually. He steps forward, running a thumb along the palm of his other hand.]

So, what first.

[ For a guy who willingly wanted to kill every potential threat back home, Derek's a big stickler for human safety. Werewolves can heal bones with relative ease, humans take a while. ]

First, we're going to work on your posture.

[ Which is a nice way of saying, 'working on general balance'. ]

Is it really that bad?

[Stiles steps forward, quirking an eyebrow. He does sit a bit heavy in his hips, always keeping weight on his right leg rather than the other.]

[ Derek doesn't reply immediately, just steps back and looks Stiles over. ]

Stand up straight.

[ He frowns a little as he notices the slight lean. ]

Did something happen to your left leg or do you always rest on your right?

[oralfixations]

[Stiles shifts to stand straight, giving a slight shrug.]

No? I just...I guess I just lean. I never really thought about that.

[It's going to take a while to remember to not do that.]

[ A small appraising nod once Stiles stands correctly. ]

You can't stand like while fighting. If you have an obvious dominant leg, your opponent is going to go for it. That and you want to keep your weight as centred as possible.

[ He'll break Stiles out of the habit at some point. It might take a while and constant reminding but they'll get there. ]

Bend in the knees, try to keep balanced at the core too, right?
